I hope this message finds you healthy and well. In a previous newsletter, we covered the COVID vaccination rate in the Marshall Islands for adults (18+). The focus was on the race to be 80% vaccinated.
We are very happy to bring the news that this goal has indeed been reached and subsequently a Safe Travelers Program (STP) has been launched with the first travelers landing in the Marshall Islands on the 18th January 2022.
SAFE TRAVELERS PORGRAM
The Marshall Islands STP is for now accepting travelers that first land and quarantine for 7 days in Hawaii. The requirements state that travelers must be fully vaccinated against COVID 19 with the 2nd vaccination administered at least 2 weeks before arrival. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR #TEAMDD
Although we are pleased to see things moving in the right direction towards our operations in Bikini Atoll, it is still in the early stages.
As this program started just over a week ago, time is yet to tell if the RMI government deems it effective. A few parameters in the quarantine procedure also need to mature before they are friendly for most travelers.
While it is too early to speculate when we will be open for business in Bikini Atoll, what I can say is we have taken significant steps for the better and we will keep you posted every step of the way.
