Galapagos OC/CCR Availability 2026/2027 Update 🦈

Dear Dirty Dozen Team Member,

We hope this email, as always, finds you well.

This week, we are taking a deep dive into one of our regular expedition destinations, Galapagos!

GALAPAGOS EXPEDITION AVAILABILITY

We have customised upcoming expeditions to Galapagos in 2026 and 2027. With only 16 divers onboard and high-level support from our expert team, each trip offers a unique opportunity to dive these world-famous islands.

Get ready for an awesome dive adventure in 2026 as we are joined by underwater legend, Jill Heinerth, to explore the stunning wildlife of the Galapagos Islands.

Straddling the equator and spread out over 45,000 sq km (17,000 sq miles) the Galapagos Archipelago is home to some of the planet’s most remote dive sites and best big animal diving.

Our CCR-only trip has 4 spaces available and will sell out soon!

Our newly released dates in 2027 offer spots for both open circuit and CCR divers. This is the perfect opportunity for couples or buddy pairs keen to travel together on different configurations.

And we are excited to be enjoying the hospitality of our new expedition vessel, the Galaxy Diver II.

Spots are already selling quickly, so don’t delay in securing your seats.

DIVING IN GALAPAGOS

Scuba diving in the Galápagos Islands is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, offering encounters with some of the ocean’s most iconic and elusive creatures.

Situated 600 miles off the coast of Ecuador, these remote volcanic islands sit at the convergence of major ocean currents, creating nutrient-rich waters that support an extraordinary range of marine life. Divers can expect to see everything from hammerhead sharks and whale sharks to marine iguanas and playful sea lions.

The Galápagos is famous for big-animal diving, particularly at sites like Darwin and Wolf Islands, where schools of scalloped hammerheads glide through the blue in breathtaking numbers.

Whale sharks, often measuring over 30 feet long, are also frequently sighted here, especially between June and November. Manta rays, eagle rays, and even mola molas add to the list of pelagic highlights.

In addition to its large marine animals, the Galápagos offers unique opportunities to observe species found nowhere else on Earth. Marine iguanas, the only lizards that feed underwater, can be seen grazing on algae-covered rocks, while flightless cormorants and Galápagos penguins dart by in search of fish. The cold currents mean visibility and temperature can vary, but the rewards are well worth the effort.

KNOWLEDGE BASE

Being on location with our trusted partners Galapagos Rebreathers since 2020, we have captured some breathtaking photos and videos over the years.

We also did presentations on rebreather diving in Galapagos which you can see below.

This is a great starting point to geek out over your trip to Galapagos. Remember, we have tons more info in our Knowledge Base.

GALAXY DIVER II FEATURE

For our 2027 Galapagos expedition, we have teamed up with a new vessel, the Galaxy Diver II.

Refurbished in 2024, this 30m motor yacht accommodates up to 16 guests across nine double cabins (2 on lower deck, 3 on main deck, and 4 upper deck). Each cabin has an en‑suite bathroom, air‑conditioning, and ocean‑facing windows for comfort and light.

Shared areas include a dining salon, bar, lounge, and a spacious solarium fitted with a jacuzzi.

And, as usual, we have teamed up with the awesome guides from Galapagos Rebreathers to bring you the very best local expert knowledge.

The Galaxy Diver II is ideal if you’re seeking an intimate, well-appointed liveaboard offering robust diving itineraries and immersive nature exploration. With strong onboard service, access to premier dive sites, and opportunities to engage in conservation, it’s consistently described as “first-class” among small‑group Galápagos vessels.

That’s it from us for now. We look forward to some great adventures with you in Galapagos in the years to come and as always, don’t forget, if you are feeling lonely, then we are here to chat Dirty.

Best,

Aron Arngrímsson and the DDE Team
