Hey Dirty Dozen Member, how has your week been?
This week DDE thought it was about time we started getting excited about our impending expeditions. We are happy to be able to share with you the tentative reopening schedule from our partner Blue O Two and the vessels it operates globally.
Taking the lead from our partners, Blue O Two, all systems are currently GO for our next expedition in Truk Lagoon this coming December with the vessel scheduled to be operational in November. All our future expeditions beyond that also fit within the current reopening schedule.
It goes without saying in an ongoing dynamic crisis like this with many unknowns, should anything change, we will inform you immediately.
Check out the C-19 FAQ section on this link to find out more.
In other news, the DDE team has been getting acquainted with some projects we have never had time to dive into in the past, namely 3D printing.
This latest addition to the kit room has had us busily searching open-source platforms to discover the coolest blueprints to hone our printing skills. So far, we have found a huge array of useful tools that will make both yours, and our team’s life easier on expeditions.
Amongst others, we have been printing Shearwater protective travel covers for the handset and HUD, and the popular SorbPour that Tony Land from Divetech so graciously released. Sorb filling on the boat is about to get easy! We are using a durable and biodegradable plastic filament in the printing process, and in true Dirty Dozen form, expect to find a useful gift awaiting you in your bunk when you come on board for your trip of a lifetime.
We also started playing around with printing Photogrammetry. We could have printed it with a better source material and settings as you can tell, but it worked and will get better with time. This is the Schnellboot made by DD Team member John Kendall who is with us in Truk Lagoon next year.
This week we also are excited to tell you about a new project. We have teamed up with our affiliate Paralenz to assist you with a simple mission: to enable you to seamlessly capture and share brilliant underwater videos with the world.
With the release of their new video camera, the Vaquita, that not only includes upgraded features like super sharp imagery and great colour correction, it also has the power to record crucial data from the environment which Paralenz then share with marine scientists in the name of conservation making every dive you do, count.
As all our expeditions travel to some of the most remote and fantastic destinations across the globe, capturing video footage is a perfect way to take your memories home with you and share them with the community who have never seen such sights. Whether you are deep inside a wreck getting down and dirty in the rust, or cruising with tiger sharks on your safety stop, let Paralenz capture your best moments.
Pre-order the newly released Paralenz Vaquita now through this link, and The Dirty Dozen Expeditions & Paralenz will donate 10€ each to a charity which is dear to our hearts and we have big plans to collaborate with in terms of wreck conservation, The Major Projects Foundation.
That kind of sums it up for the week. We are still taking bookings for Truk Lagoon in 2021, Galapagos 2021, Bikini Atoll in 2022 and we have a few seats in Chernobyl left this year.
Contact us now to find out more about our payment schedules where final payments are as late as 90 days before departure. Our calendars are scheduled unit 2025 so your future dreams and goals can be realized and away you can join us on a trip of a lifetime.
Lastly, remember you can sign up for our weekly newsletter at the bottom of this page by making a inquiry with all the latest news and inside deals!
